Us - Poem by Daria Tulenko

It's been long since we've met up
for you even noticed my shyness creep up
amid the shade we snuggle up close
I fight back smiles
your touch tingles my toes

I hug you
you kiss my head
I breathe you in
your look lights me up red

I crane my neck
You lean down
and in no time
your lips my tongue crown

wet slick and smooth
we hungrily kiss
holding real tight
sucking each others lips

I lean on your chest
squeezing with all might
listening to your heart rest
while mine takes flight

we sit not wanting to go
taking in the sensations
but time ticks and in tow
it pulls our temptations

so in its flying wake
we live in a hourglass
fighting for our moments sake
not wanting it to pass

but though we resist
it whisks us right by
and because time enlists
your now far from my eye

I sit, for your reply wait
and soon I loose the feel
I think back to that day
but instead of warmth I'm steel

A few tears creep up
without moments notice
I quietly let them roll I'm not sad, no more pissed
because we together had a good stroll

It was a memorable walk
filled with laughs and smiles
holding hands and cherish-able talks
something i wont forget in a while
