Us, Even After I Depart Poem by Henrique Ankerkrone Caldas

Us, Even After I Depart

So many misadventures-dolls, lamps, toys-
In our shared reverie, youth simple, sold
To their dominion lawless, a "farewell"
Is what I tell their silvered solace minds

Mirthful of those domestic lands with joys
Of reminiscence, silly, solar, bold
Dog days of escapades, late nights, fates swell
Where single souls, sole amity they find

Our tales, mines, doted on lands by girls, boys
Rest in their singing resolute hands, gold
With time, thoughts dozing, laying far away, dwell
Sincere, resolved, mighty, book-bound, behind

Like mint-conditioned doors, no lasting poise
As this recording hands, sick soldiers, cold
So closely dodder, lasting fame that spell
Some sixty solemn promised years that bind
