Vacation Poem by Iohannes Silvaticus

Vacation

I want to squeeze out every last bit of soul
And keep it in a jar.
I am de-humanising, sublimating,
Soon there will be nothing left of me
At all.

It is vacating, the breath of life within me -
I want to save and savour every last bit of me,
Suck the marrow, savour the bones.
Because that is all that is left -

The rent is long overdue,
I should have been evicted six months ago.
