Validation

Validation

There is a place in the woods I know
where I can go and think a single thought
of who I am and where I go
to mark my passing here.
There is no temple
No monument to mark my stopping by.
No published works
nor stanzas rich with melodies
to hum along the road.
There must be something I could do
to prove I was alive and here and loved.
It cannot be just my grave that I leave behind,
There must be something,
something more to say I traveled here.
My children have their destiny
their own decided trip.
I live through myself alone
and know I stopped a while,
I left no markers nor steps to follow.
Each of us must find a certain place
where we could rest and look beyond
the want of recognition. I do not crave
validation nor being first in line,
I'll leave a sign that says it pure,
Please do not forget me.
