It was many and many a year ago
that came a lady as fair as eve
upon the abode of abraham
and she did sing
under the clouds that roamed so prettily
the sweetest melody
that put the stars and the moons
all in a harmony.
until darkness came
into the valley of evermore
and the fair eve
grew ever so slightly pale
and the abode of abraham
heard no melody no more
and in the mountains
one could hear a deafening groan
the valley of evermore
grew a eerie silence
and the abode of abraham
lost its former radiance
and many a prince
and many a princess
in many a castle
faded into misery
a terrible name
was heard
deep in the mountains
of the forests of evermore
a name so frightful
that heaven shook
and hell thundered
the mountains growled
and the valley of evermore
grew darkened
and the hearts of humans grew uncertain.
a plague was brought into this world
a new diseases they said
made eve in the valley of evermore
shiver and shrink
into agony
they called it "evil"
a name so horrifying
a name so new
that brought melancholy
and doom.
so evil was brought
unto this world
and no longer
any melody was heard
and no longer
eve did walk
upon the valley of evermore
