Value Of Honor Poem by Robert Mutsaers

Value Of Honor

The unavoidable knocks on my door,
it never rang a bell as to where it came for.
So why not recognize this character,
accepting it as my own- or self-admired wickedness...

Ah... my dear fellowman,
if I speak to you whenever I can,
your smile reverses in pride,
fencing with the whopper or its fiscal tide.

Now, dear old chap of mine,
how come we've never built this shrine,
to be recognized as shared a loan,
where we both feel at home?

Now, dear old friend of freedom and space,
how did we never built this holy place,
where I am the admitted cornerstone,
with you as my symbol to condone?

Now, dear old comrade of light,
how dumb we've never got this right,
to be mesmerized by a friendly mire,
where only I dance with your attire...

Ah... my dear fellowman,
if I speak to you whenever I shan’t
your smile disperses with pity,
fencing with the blooper or its legal gritty.

The unavoidable knocks on my window,
it never fostered a spell as to whom it came to...
why not recognize this weather,
accepting it as Darwin’s- or God aspired nakedness...
