Variculturalism Poem by Mary Champion

Variculturalism

Take these cultures.

Food.
Fashion..
Fine Arts.
Literature.
Music and Dance…

Add new varieties,
new traditions -
a few minor adjustments
and all are enriched,
horizons widened
opportunities increased.

Take this culture.
Religion.

Add new varieties,
new traditions,
there will be few if any adjustments.
Things will fall apart,
conflict will widen
discontent will proliferate.
Minds will narrow.
Visions will be blinkered,
and tempers shortened.

Take any society -
one religion is sufficient,
none would be perfect.
