In the void between life and death, I stand,
Teetering on the line's delicate veil,
Lost in a sea of uncertainty, with no hand,
Searching for hope but feeling naught but frail.
A heart overwhelmed, as if bound to explode,
Feeding on the fragments of shattered dreams,
Each beat a reminder of an untrodden road,
Where joy once lived, now slowly it seems.
Time, the toll for everything we endure,
Has taken its chunk, leaving me bereft,
The moments to savor, now fleeting and fewer,
As life's demands leave little time left.
And in this struggle, trust becomes a test,
For wounds deep within, unseen and unknown,
I guard them closely, a fortress at best,
Waiting for someone bold enough to be shown.
The trauma, a shadow, resides in my heart's deep spot,
A dark abyss where pain silently resides,
Aching to be released, yet fearing the resulting knot,
Only the braves souls can truly reside.
But even amidst this darkness, a flicker ignites,
A glimmer of hope, like a fragile ember,
Slowly emerging from darkened nights,
A reminder that healing may come, come December.
So I walk this tightrope, with blurred vision and stride,
Numbness and hopelessness my constant companions,
But buried within, a spark lies deep inside,
A resilience that blooms despite life's cannons.
Lost in between, yet somehow still feeding,
On the promise of better days to come,
For every step forward, a new strength breeding,
From the battles fought and wars yet undone.
In this twilight realm, I find solace and grace,
For even in the midst of despair and sorrow,
I am reminded of the beauty life can embrace,
And the strength that emerges with each new tomorrow.
So, I'll keep teetering on this fragile line,
Feeding on hope, even when it feels numb,
Knowing that one day, the veil will unwind,
And I'll find myself again, alive and finally overcome.
