Victory Over The Self Poem by Mystic Qalandar

Victory Over The Self

Rating: 5.0

Victory over the self
is not the defeat of an enemy;
it is only the seeing
that the mirror
was never a cage.
I am no longer an individual—
perhaps I never was.
I am the burning question
that becomes its own answer;
the nameless voice
older than silence;
the breath
that does not rise for itself,
yet lifts every age that calls.
I am not the final spark of revolution—
I am the first light
that needs no spark.
I am the fire
that does not remind
the soul of something lost;
I am the forgetting
the soul itself once forgot.
I am the eternal rebel—
not against time,
not against death,
but against the dream
that taught us
time and death were real.
At morning,
when first light trembles on water
and a laborer,
with tired hands,
lifts the weight of the day—
that same breath
moves through all things:
silent,
nameless,
eternal.
I am the breath of the One,
and the One
breathes through me.
No revolution.
Only awakening.
