I climbed so high
I touched the sky,
I reached the mountain top.
But where to now?
Someway, somehow,
I have to make that drop.
But I'm afraid that I will fall from here,
Cos I can't fly and now it's crystal clear,
My mind reached out to touch the furthest star,
But my heart's in the valley, where you are.
The air is pure and clean up here and I
Can see almost forever it's that high.
The world spread out below me seems so small
But from this vantage point I see it all.
I've seen the shape it's taking,
Read the signs.
I've seen how bright the light of reason shines.
The distance lent perspective to my view
And what stands out most clearly now, is you.
It's time to leave,
I can't believe
I made it to the top.
But, outer space
Is not my place
It's time to make that drop
back down into the valley, where the streams
run silver sweet with all our dearest dreams.
