Viridian Glaze Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Viridian Glaze

A viridian glaze greets me this morning
I had to rub my eyes for some tangible clarity
A sudden spray of a fragrance too captivating
I opened my eyes, it was just your scent
Laughter hurt my ears, but there was no other sound
That I’d rather wake up to each, ordinary morning
These creased sheets mirror of us being beautiful
An apartment of polaroid shots rainbow this room
Your smiles, my dagger-like nose and our sticky gaze
Has engulfed the entire world outside into the drains
Our property, engraved with our names in a language
That nobody else understands, we chuckle together;
As sudden as the breeze, we became pure, beguiled;
the Universe slipped into us, but it got too jealous.
