Vision Subdivision Poem by Richard Phipps

Vision Subdivision

As a vision she appeared to me last night,
and lit the room with her ethereal light.

Though lasting for only a fleeting time,
as my lack of diversity came back to remind.

I knew this vision soon would lapse,
as my life-long die was firmly cast.

As a man in the desert of the daily grind,
that oasis of beauty quenched thirst life-defined.

Thru persistence, patience, present-past,
I clinged at least to this soothing repast,

and knew she was there so easy to find,
whenever was needed time to unwind.

For several nights she came to me,
that vision of hope so plain to see,

but a reminder of what could never be,
a pain to the heart of my mental melee.

Visions come clearer, the nearer they are,
but move ' way too quickly, their grasp just too far.

So savor your visions, no matter the cost.
You never know when, your sight will be lost.
