Voices Poem by Jorge Arturo Valles Anguiano

Voices

I see myself on a corner,
I don't know where am I,
I just know I'm scared,
I just know that I hear people screaming,
I just know I'm crying.

But what I remember
is that my parent are fighting,
I remember I'm on my bed with my mother,
then I remember my father coming with a knife...,
attempting to kill her...,
but what I saw is that he couldn't,
he dropped the knife,
and start crying,
aswell as my mother,
I'm impressed by this 'power'
of love.

Now,
I don't care about this anymore,
I'm just only happy with what I've,
a mother,
a father
and a little brother.
