Vows Poem by Zueshan Ali

Vows

He said, ‘for better or for worse'
Then he came home smelling of infidelity
At half-past two.

He said, ‘in sickness and in health'
Then he put his fist to your jaw and
Left you black and blue.

He said, ‘till death do us part'
Then he met the other woman and
Walked out on you.

But you stayed because you said, ‘I do'.
