Waiting On The Battlefield Poem by Heidi Fiore

Waiting On The Battlefield

I’m loved, its true,
But it doesn’t matter when I’m with you.
My family is great,
But can’t appreciate the way I feel

I’m torn between two worlds,
My heart will explode.
This energy inside of me is going to lose control.

I’m waiting on the battlefield
I pray to God that none of this is real
Take me away
I’m waiting on the battlefield
Heart in two, don’t know what to do
Oh God, Take me away,
Save me from this place

I close my eyes, and you’re there.
My dreams are always of me and you.
In a place where we can be
Just in love and happy too

But the darkness has to come,
And take me to the truth,
That my heart loves two

I’m waiting on the battlefield
I pray to God that none of this is real
Take me away
I’m waiting on the battlefield
Heart in two, don’t know what to do
Oh God, Take me away,
Save me from this place

Love’s supposed to be strong enough
But when your fighting love, its never good enough
The pain inside, the love I feel,
Why Can’t the world be what I need.
What I need

I never hurt anyone
I never did anything
I fought for what’s right
I stood up for myself
And now I feel the emptiness building inside of me

I’m waiting on the battlefield
I pray to God that none of this is real
Take me away
I’m waiting on the battlefield
Heart in two, don’t know what to do
Oh God, Take me away,
Save me from this place
