Waking Up To Imaginary Clarinets - Poem by Kyle Schlicher

in the darkness
light is exposed to memory
working over

hey! turn it down over there!

i'm trying to wake up!

no crackers please.

sodium does me no good.

i can't find my feet this

maybe i won't need them
this thursday.

what a way to begin
my next to last day
on earth?

the platters
are singing an oldie but goodie.

benny goodman
died quite a few years ago.

how i hate
ringing in my ears!
