Walk A Step Poem by Sean Green

Walk A Step

I'll walk a step to achieve
perfection found in where none should be
one step more and then the next
until I find I must retreat

when the critics have their say
on such matters that betray
life embraced to realize
identities that aren't a lie

two steps more to come aside
fellow travelers that give comfort
admitting that they also vibe
with alternatives found inside

confirming bias of the perverse
not by that name for the converts
instead the label is the norm
stating life beyond the fold

the third step may be the last
returning round to the first
standing as the example
to those who follow with their own.
