Walls Of Isolation Poem by Nissi Lunga

Walls Of Isolation

I refuse to be confined within the walls of isolation!

Behind these walls lies,

Joy,

Peace,

Love.

I solely refuse to be confined in these walls of I solation!

Behind these walls- I can hear echoes of people's voices.

Giggles of the young pacing about.

I refuse to oblige to societal norms!

Trade my fame for freedom,

I can't establish relations with my money.

Always on the set.

My life is an open book read by many.

my privacy published in newspaper headlines.

Can't step out.

I want to eat everything,

Break chairs, so be it!

Clothes can't fit, so be it!

Not sexy enough, so be it!

But I defy to be confined within these walls of isolation.
