Wandering Alone On The Desert... Poem by Farnood Jahangiri

Wandering Alone On The Desert...

Wandering alone on the desert
Hungry, thirsty and tired
I saw a genie approaching
Summoned by someone dead

He wanted me to ask
Several wishes from him
“Do you want a palace
Or golden pool to swim

Or do you wish to have
A golden-haired girl
On whose sandals are placed
A lot of golden pearls? ”

Being so weary and in despair
I made him no reply
I shook my hands with him
And bade him a goodbye

When I found out that
I am not at all alone
And I could see a light
In front of me at dawn

The genie stabbed me thrice
In a vicious attack
Then pure blood was released
from my front and back

Now every day and night
I summon three genies
To go and stab the travellers
Who have good companies.
