Watching The Leaves Falling Poem by Suki Nakamura

Watching The Leaves Falling

in this modern day dog-eat-dog world
when the leaves of chrysanthemums fall
during a lousy autumn
no one is foolish enough
to mistake them
as helpless butterflies

perhaps those old
and dying
hopeless wanna-be-poets still do

but me, never.
