We All Fall Poem by Fiona Khan

We All Fall

We All Fall

#FeesmustFall

#FoolsMustFall

And we shall all fall
Fall by failing to tag the failure
Of falsehood by falsifying
Documents and lives
Of fraudsters.

We shall all fall
From the born frees
To those who fought for freedom
Until the free-dom has taken us back in chains
Of self- inflicted disorders
As the orders disengage and become dominated
By the ignorant freeloaders.

We will Fall
As we fail to fell
The dead wood among the shrubs
But insist on carrying the carrion
Of the demo-crazy democracy
And the mongering thieves
With piggy back stalwarts of apartheid
Still keeping them apart
The rich from the roots
The have-all from the have-nots.
We shall Fall
As we decolonize
Desensitized mindsets
Of colonial cheerleaders
Huddling intellectual pom-poms
Flaunting their academia
among the wannabe academics
Swallowing the crumbs of an ailing education
But a metamorphosing education system
Throwing honorary degrees to assuage the
Conscience of the unconscientious.

I have fallen
Prey to an egregious society
Of I want it ALL
I want it NOW and
I'm LOVING it!
Like the fat, juicy burger
Swallowing mouthfuls
Of hunger satiated by the handouts of fat cats
In a pittance of grants and maintenANCe.
I have fallen for a conjurer
By dreaming of Uhuru
But dragged through the Shadows of Death
I smell the burnt fetuses of my sister
The seed of my flesh
The aborted son of my soul
Son of the soil...
We have all Fallen
And... I Shall Rise
From the embers of #mustfall.
