We Are All Poets Poem by Adedokun Abdurrahman

We Are All Poets

We all see beyond,
Stars that adorn the sky
And hear beyond,
The howling sound of seas at night,
Do you not feel,
Beyond the coolness of the morning dew,
And beauty of statues, nicely hewn?
Do you see the frightening dark at night,
And loneliness walking behind in its flowing gown?
We all love that special she,
But you rammage your bags for words that fit,
While poets, simply pick their pens.
And write in lines of befitting poems.
I endeavour to unleash my dreams,
With each spill of my amateaur ink,
To one day be called a poet,
And celebrate with 'em, this day of theirs.
