We used to go out dancing
now we don't
We used to talk on the phone
now we can't
We used to be lovers
now we won't
We used to be friends
now I'm not sure we can do that again
We used to laugh out loud
now I'm not sure we will again
You used to stare into my eyes to tell
me you wanted me
Now I'm not really sure you do
You used to make me feel safe
You still do
We used to be used to seeing more
of one another
Now it's hard
I felt like maybe you loved me somehow
Now I'm not sure if you could
I always feel like thanking you
I don't know if you'll hear me
I sometimes feel like saying sorry
I don't know that you will know why
I want you to still think about me
I still think about you
I want to still hear you call me a friend
I hope you can believe it too
I want it to be true
I hope one day I could share this with you
And I hope we can start again to be friends
It won't be the same
And it shouldn't
It should be different
And it could be great
I don't want to push you
I don't know how to not scare you away
I just hope it's not too late
