What Does The Jester Say? Poem by Timmy Curran

What Does The Jester Say?

Who is this that comes
to sit, directly and
to the side, in
the shadows trying to hide
At once for a time
it could be a friend,
someone in a strange place
for which you could depend
All colors be true
and revelations are always
in vogue, does this mind
want to know where
his love is at all times?
Could it be better to
see it through, live on
in shame, while the jester
laughs with his mouth but
speaks with his eyes
There´s somebody in my room
who I once called my own
Can´t say who lays there
at night and awakens at the day
Late it now gets, the boredom
here thick, much like the
air that fills up the lungs
Could you be the one to
break a long history
People are who they are,
this is no great mystery
The only thing to do is be prepared
For what, not sure
Endless waiting is the
worst of things to endure
