What Happened? Poem by Kalee Skriver

Where has our happiness gone?
Once upon a time there was a people who shined in spite of the dark.
They were never deterred by their fears or their failures,
they simply forged ahead and seeked for more joys to explore.
But now we are held back by the littlest of sparks.
We are all so consumed by the do's and the dont's,
the past and the future.
Why cant we all just learn to take up our burdens
and find the strength to endure?
