What I Crave While The Sun Is Up Poem by Sasha Flores

What I Crave While The Sun Is Up

Rating: 5.0

I marveled at the extinct sun
The sundown brought such sorrow
While I pondered, predawn and redone
Somewhat louder than the Kilimanjaro
I crave the moonless, midway mountainside
And its eyes have all the basking
I crave the South American, shining Sunday
With such a passion for multitasking
I crave the deskbound, distractible daybreak
And the festivities never smarting
While I pondered, Zambian and bake
All my soul within me starting
I crave the Colombian, capacitive coronation
How they were parting, smarting - outsmarting
There is an abundance of population
Arroz en leche from my young never departing
I crave the beachlike, blue bedtime
And the Kazakh that never hailed
While I pondered, deskbound and nighttime
I crave the long Claudio Coutinho Trail
