What If? Poem by DiaDuit Cluaiste

What If?

If the air around us ceased,
What would happen to the trees?
Would they bend and bow
Like times before,
Or would their dances never be?

If the boundless ocean left,
Could the waves still crash and swirl?
Or would the water
Left in wells
Be worth more than the purest pearl?

If my life had never been,
Would the world still be the same?
What greater impact
Could I have made?
None.
I know it, more than my own name.
