What's Done Is Done Poem by clayton young

What's Done Is Done

We lay together drawing our fake hearts.
Pretending we both care
But we both know nothing’s really there.
We’ll go on pretending,
We’ll lie to ourselves and to each other.

Maybe I’ll just hate myself
For it, maybe I’ll get past this.
Maybe I won’t, maybe I’ll jump of a
Bridge and miss,
Maybe then I won’t feel like this.

But whatever I do I know tonight
When I’m crying to myself and
I think I’ll lose my mind,
You’ll still be there by my side.

We’ll go on, pretend anything
Matters. They’ll disappear and
We’ll keep pretending and forget each other.
