What Should I Do? Poem by Nicholas Hrynchuk

What Should I Do?

You left me,
I kinda saw it coming,
I just couldn't see,
How much it could hurt

You still had me invited to your party,
I didn't know if I was allowed to come or not,
The fact I could come made me happy,
I smiled pretty big then

I saw you at your party,
And you were so beautiful,
I couldn't breath for a second,
And my heart pounded on my chest

During your party,
While you were in your throne,
I couldn't stop looking at you and smiling,
I thought you looked at me a few times,
But figured otherwise

I got to dance with you,
It was my first dance ever,
I'm glad it was with you,
Besides the fact that I sucked at it

I came out of the bathroom and saw you,
You said you wanted to talk to me,
I listened but people started coming,
And you had said never mind,
But I still wanted to know and you said you'd tell me later,
And that it was more like something you had to do

After your party,
I had to leave,
I reminded you and you led me outside,
You asked if I was glad this guy hadn't come,
I told the truth,
I wasn't cause I figured you would have been happier.

After that you hugged me,
I happily hugged back,
But then you did something I really hadn't expected,
You kissed me,
And my head went a little fuzzy

When it woke back up fully you were going back inside,
I didn't know if I should have pulled you back and kissed you,
But all I asked myself in my head,
Was what should I do?
