What Then Is Life? Poem by Ologunde Joshua Abiodun

What Then Is Life?

Freshy face as I stared the mirror
Happy here in wonder!
But I have it all!
All I have, his all I get
Things I need; his all I have
Things I don't need, is what I don't have!
What then is life?

God is more and more!
How is, how where, how far can I go with this?
As said by the 'Holy Scroll'
After He heard all this;
'He fell to his feet and said;
Naked I come, naked will I go'
Praise be His name!

But how did He do this?
Hmm! I wonder in my silence
This life I come; undated I'll go!
Crying I come to life,
Crying they'll wish farewell?
What then is life?
Where many die and many are born

Mysterious is life
Death is certain,
Life is for a short while!
Nothing is permanent
What then, is life?
This world is tiresome!
But one day after it all

I'll go and go home
Judgement day I fear;
What will I say?
Hell is real
Heaven is real
To me is liberty; to make a choice

Have stopped celebrating the dead,
But instead, I pray for them
For they journey unknown
I wish they're fine
What then is life?
What then is life?
What then is life?
