When All The Words Are Gone Poem by Selam G. Sekuar

When All The Words Are Gone

Rating: 4.8

What do you write when all words escape your mind?
What do you say when there's nothing left to say?
Is it romance, beauty, trust, pain that you put to paper when all words are gone?
Or is it the blank indifference of empty mind and empty sheet?
What do you sing when all the songs have been sung?
What is the tune of an unwritten melody, an unplayed symphony, music without a reader a song without a singer?
is it a beautiful harmony or a deafening silence?
What do you do when all has been done?
What do you feel when there is no feeling left, no human left, no thoughts or emotion, no person or soul? when there is Nothing left
but the blank indifference of empty mind and empty sheet.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I write nothing until I feel it needs to burst onto the page. Sometimes I look around the room at artefacts that might inspire or I might stop writing for a while, then put on the radio and sing a song. This maybe followed by actually speaking with my voice to people that I meet. Then I go to the bookstore and buy a variety of books to stimulate and inspire the mind, heart and soul. I think more than I write, I think and feel and smile to myself about persons I love. When I feel I have something to say, I write. Thank you for inspiring this contemplation.
