Oh, bear with me for I am old
And lucky to still be alive.
My years have passed much too fast
Though somehow, I survive.
All through history we're born to struggle
Enduring hate, lust, nature and disease.
Since our first we have remained the same
Serving goodness or evil as we please!
Politicians who wish to be revered by history
Must earn their fame by living the truth.
Any who continue to mislead and deceive
Must be shunned by the voter at the booth.
Sadly soon my dreams will end
And my life shall disappear.
Like so many of those gone before
Whose death made them more dear.
