When I Knew Poem by the prolific penman

When I Knew

On the day we first met, the birds sang an unforgettable song,
The bees, out of season, made the sweetest honey just for us to taste.
Under the warm rays of the sun, I knew I could fall in love with you.

The wind whistled through the trees, slow and low,
As we danced among swirling leaves, the tune of forever playing.
Even now, I hear that melody, as we danced on an endless cloud of love,
Rising higher than the most natural high, to a place familiar by scent alone.

In that moment, I knew I had fallen under love's spell,
And that you were the one for me.
I realized that I could forever love you.
