When I Saw You Poem by Akinmuleya Alfred

WHEN I SAW YOU
Like a dog searching for bone,
Behind a closed barn in a farmers hut; all alone,
Impatiently, I sat beholding the unusual creamy sky.
It was hell coping with the wild whistling of these creatures that fly,
But within, I was calm, quiet, lonely and cold,
When the day was about growing older, behold
All became still and the beaks of the whistlers were sealed,
My weaken heart was bailed,
I saw nature exhuming the beauties of Eden days,
Glowing faithfully like Novembers' sun rays.
Solely, I felt the presence of a wingless angel nearby,
And my coldness departed by and by.
Even as it rained in my heart on this dusk in a cat and dog manner,
In my wetted coat I felt warmer.
In the end, when the sky spoke darkness,
And this planet was covered with thick blackness,
I saw no angel. Just a flowery colleen with a blonde hair,
Softly molded with a touch of care,
And when I opened my eye from my dream,
It was real to the brim,
I have seen no angel but you,
No ghost but you.
