When Prophecy Becomes The Cause Of War Poem by Mystic Qalandar

When Prophecy Becomes The Cause Of War

One declares:
"I am preparing the world
for the coming of the Messiah."

Another cries from beneath the rubble:
"My suffering prepares the road
for the return of the Mahdi."

Power writes prophecy with weapons.
Pain writes prophecy with blood.

History will decide
which prayer reaches heaven.

One builds a throne
and calls it an altar:

"I am making the world ready
for the Messiah."

Another lies buried beneath stone, whispering still:
"My body itself
is the proof awaiting the Mahdi."

Power writes its prophecy
with the smoking steel of the present.
Pain writes its prophecy
with the alphabet of shattered bones.
