When The Wind Blows Poem by Dr. Charles A Stone

When The Wind Blows

Forget the music
come dance with me
in the silence of Oz
before the tornado

Leap with me through mirrors
sing me to sleep
while teardrops stutter
an apology to the stars

And when fairy dust
covers our tracks
part the seas for me
as your lips part
time when we kiss
under a blue moon

Hide me in your shadow
in dark corners
where my senses come alive
where my cries are not heard

And when the wind blows
listen for echoes
of lovers
who have preceded us
to this faraway place
calling our names
counting us among the ones
who dance without music
