Where Are You? Poem by LaTisha Parkinson

Where Are You?

Where are you

I'm standing right here.
Where are you?
I never moved;
Not an inch,
Not a step.
I just turned my back,
You walked away.
And Kept walking.
Every step you took,
Brought me closer to my knees.
It hurt.
I cried. I screamed.
You didn't look back.
On my knees,
I still have hope;
Hope that you will stop,
turn around
and come back.
I keep screaming.
I know one day you'll hear me
and come back,
help me up
and stay with me.
