While Love Remains Poem by Richard Trembath

While Love Remains

We are never apart as long
as I have memories of you
And you of me:

We are never apart as long
as we can recall
The things we shared.

For as long as our memories
endure and we care,
The bond will remain.

We shall never be apart for
as long as memories shared
Are cherished by us both.

Though land and water
may separate us,
They cannot separate our hearts,

For the Earth extends from
where I am to where you are
And it is the same Earth:

I can touch it where I am and
you where you are
And the Earth will link our touch.

I can look at the moon and
know that you are looking
At the same moon:

I can drift through time and
know it is the same time
I drift through with you.

We shall never be apart for
as long as love remains:
We shall never be alone.
