Whispers... Poem by Walter Dapliyan

Whispers...

How I fought to shout
At these whispers I dread!
O that they may come out
From this wretched head!

But my voice was muffled;
Stilled by this great fear.
No matter how I struggled,
They're so fatally near.

So I shouted in silence
For them to stop.
Eyes wide in defiance,
Until they pop.

Still the whispers whisper
With unceasing will;
Causing me to surrender
My soul at nill.

And the whispers turned to shouts;
And my soul died thereabouts.
