Just found this poem, typed, signed & dated by my father in-law who just died. Dated feb 1970. What is the deal with this poem

I read this when I was but 15 years old back in 1968.

My dad found this poem while in Vietnam. He carried it home when he came home in 68.

I was recently given old poetry my grandfather wrote and he has this poem typed and signed

I saw that poem in the early months of 1968, while serving in Vietnam.
