Who Do You Want To Be? Poem by Tom Krause

Who Do You Want To Be?

Think for a moment before you get busy today
of the nicest person you have met on life's way.

How accepted you felt. The interest they they showed.
So happy to see you. A smile that just glowed.

You could talk of your dreams, share stories and jokes.
You could express your fears and worries and hopes.

While words of support were all you received.
Encouraging thoughts that helped you believed.

And not for a moment did you ever feel judged.
You could be who you were, you always felt loved.

You see the happiest people have hearts full of love.
They are humble and thankful for gifts from above.

They make others feel special, for they believe that they are.
They have struggled in life but have covered their scars.

Contentment they find not from thinking of self.
God has taught them the joy of loving somebody else.

Now think for a moment as you start on your way,
wouldn't it be nice to be that person today?
