Who Will Remind Me Poem by Latiff Mohidin

Who Will Remind Me

at that hour the night's dwellers
slept soundly on the floor
bodies resting passing into a dream
forgetting the movement and the hoarse voices
of the old farmers in the early day

i return to the ground walking
encircling the house quietly
trying to remind the names of trees
the small birds in the wild grass
the fish fluttering in the dam

who will remind me
of the movement of unnamed shadows
vanishing into the dark without a voice?

i will walk around awhile
here encircling the house quietly
waiting before that moment of sleep returns again
