A conversation with a friend inspired me to write this about his relationship with his mother, it is posted with his permission and consent on the content...
Momma, momma, why'd you do it?
Momma, momma, you made me cry,
Momma, momma, why'd you do it?
You hurt me so bad,
Momma, momma, why'd you do it?
You left me all alone when I was young,
You raised the knife and put it in my back,
Once was bad enough, but you didn't stop,
Now I have to many scars to forgive.
Were the drugs more important then me?
Did you really ever love me at all?
I still wonder if you cared,
Because you never seemed to show it.
Momma, momma, why'd you do it?
Momma, momma, you made me cry,
Momma, momma, why'd you do it?
You hurt me so bad,
Momma, momma, why'd you do it?
I would have forgiven you for anything,
If you only had done it once,
But you never stopped to think,
What you did affected me forever.
So many lies I can't keep them straight,
I never knew if I could believe you,
Why coudln't you just tell me the truth,
I was more grown up then you'll ever be.
Momma, momma, why'd you do it?
Momma, momma, you made me cry,
Momma, momma, why'd you do it?
You hurt me so bad,
Momma, momma, why'd you do it?
