Why did you have to say I love you?
I would have settled for being friends.
Now I love you and you hate me
And nothing I say will make amends.

To get her back,
I have been used,
You’ve done me wrong,
I feel abused.
Like a stray dog
That has been kicked
I’ll go to ground
My wounds to lick.

You said I love you
And when I began to believe
Your word was true,
You make me leave.
What shall I do
Now I love you?
