Why, God, Did You Create Me?
Why, God,
did You create me
and send me into this mysterious garden of Earth?
Sometimes,
in the deepest silence of the night,
when the world has fallen asleep,
my mind whispers,
"Wouldn't the darkness have been kinder
if I had never opened my eyes? "
And I have no answer.
I look around me,
tearful faces,
broken dreams,
sorrowful memories,
and the strange victory of those
who build their castles upon lies.
I watch truth walk barefoot
while falsehood dresses itself in gold...
And then,
something inside me breaks.
An ocean of tears
rises from the hidden chambers of my soul
and silently falls from my eyes.
I ask You again,
"Why, God?
Why did You give me a heart
that feels so deeply,
eyes that cannot stop seeing suffering,
and a soul that cannot remain silent
before injustice? "
But somewhere beyond my questions,
in a silence deeper than silence,
I feel something I cannot explain.
Not a voice.
Not a word.
Only a mysterious presence,
as though You are whispering
through the breath of the night:
"My child,
you do not yet see
the whole story."
Perhaps my tears
are not signs of defeat.
Perhaps they are prayers
that have forgotten their words.
Perhaps every wound
has been quietly carving
a doorway within me,
a doorway through which
Your hidden light
will one day enter.
So I will keep walking.
Even when the road disappears,
I will place one trembling foot
before the other.
I will carry my questions
like sacred lamps,
and my tears
like pearls of prayer.
For perhaps the night
was never meant to last forever.
Perhaps beyond these clouds
You have already prepared
a dawn I cannot yet see.
And perhaps, dear God,
the reason You created me
was not that I should never suffer,
but that,
through all my suffering,
I might discover
a love deeper than sorrow,
a light stronger than darkness,
and a hope
that even tears cannot drown.
So tonight,
though my heart is weary,
I will not say goodbye to tomorrow.
I will lift my tearful eyes
toward Your silent heavens
and whisper,
"If You have brought me this far,
perhaps there is still
a beautiful chapter
You have not yet revealed."
And somewhere,
far beyond the darkness,
the first star appears.
Perhaps that is Your answer.
Perhaps You are telling me,
"Stay.
The dawn is coming."
