Why I Run Poem by Ian Waithira

Why I Run

Some runs hurt,
My feet, back and calves,
Some runs heal
My heart, mind, and soul.
Some runs destroy,
My fat, muscles, and tendons.
Some runs restore,
My perspective, purpose, and days.
Some runs I taste
My blood, sweat, and tears.
Some runs I enjoy,
The rain, sweat and tears.
Some runs I try,
Some runs I run
To stop the cry.
