Why Worry Poem by Bancroft Boreland

Why Worry

Infinite are the things I desire
But little are the things I have
Sitting in this immense classroom called Earth
I listen to my teacher, Life, teach
My backpack sits heavily beside me
Filled things I do not have
Like love, wealth, peace and happiness
These priceless treasures I seek
But it seems they are forever beyond my reach

Life is a gamble I may not win
But I am grateful to have had a chance
Love is a song I may never sing
Yet I am content to know the words
And if I cannot be happy
Then I will be happy to be sad

Why worry about the things you don’t have
When there are so many others
Who would be contented just to
Have a little of what you have…
