Wicked Politician Poem by Ali Farah

Wicked Politician

Rating: 4.5

You wave the flag with bride, in national festivities
but later submit to your clan absurdity
You paint national colors on your face
but your heart pumps with tribal blood
You are a uniter in public but sectarian in private
You praise justice in parades but practice nepotism in office
You hate the truth and in conflict with yourself
You play roles to fool, but your soul is for sale
You operate in the dark and afraid of the light
You a'int a modest citizen, but a deceptive varmint
You a'int a patriot, but a hypocrite in disguise
You a'int a clever, but a total disgrace
You a'int a statesman, but a wicked politician
