Winter Poem by Ainin Sofiya

Winter

A smile creeps up
Fragments of picked memories became visible
The urge and temptation, of wanting and needing
And missing, and wishing
Moments seem to stop
Reverie unfolds
Mist of crystal flakes
Drizzling, melts on pale lips
My first taste
Covered in white
Pure, benumbed, yet calm
The beginning
Leading to an ending
Right, the spotlight shining bright
Left, the song took my breath
Ahead, a crowd in awe
Tears dangling above their flushed cheeks
And reddened ears
Wrapped up in the warmth of the spotlight
Protected by the chill of the darkened cloud
Struck by the beautiful melody and speech
“You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone”
To “we’ll meet again”
As the goodbyes fade away
I stood there
Gaze fixed
Butterflies fluttered
Like in an astounding garden of red roses
And I was the pink daphne
Loved, and cared
Cherished
Oh sweet memories
