winters retreat
daffodils dance in a spring breeze
Like revellers at a drug fuelled rave,
Perfectly rigid, they bend with ease,
Do they know the pleasure they gave.
A host of jaundiced narcissus
Add colour to a monochrome day
Make the day auspicious
Replace the winter grey.
Spring will banish the mask of the wraith
winter surrender it's hold
The spirit soars, Have a little faith
The new replaces the old
